By accessing and using Whisper STT ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Whisper STT provides free, browser-based audio transcription and translation powered by OpenAI's Whisper AI model. All processing occurs locally in your web browser. The Service does not require registration or an account.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use Whisper STT only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Use the Service to transcribe audio that you do not have the right to access or process
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the Service (beyond what is publicly available)
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the website
  • Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce
  • Infringe upon the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights

4. Intellectual Property

The Whisper STT website, design, code, and content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The Whisper AI model is provided by OpenAI under the MIT license. Transformers.js is provided by Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license.

Any transcriptions or translations you produce using the Service are yours. We claim no ownership over your input audio or output text.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of transcription or translation results
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Compatibility with your device or browser

AI transcription is not perfect. Always review and verify transcription results, especially for critical or professional use cases such as medical, legal, or financial content.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Whisper STT and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in transcription or translation
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
  • Any third-party conduct on the Service

7. Third-Party Content and Services

The Service may display advertisements provided by Ezoic and link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party sites or services.

8. Model and Data Downloads

The Service downloads AI model files from Hugging Face to your browser. These downloads are subject to Hugging Face's terms of service and the model's license (MIT). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
